Refund Policy

Plot45's core analysis tool is free, so this policy only concerns paid plans (such as the Teacher plan). We want you to buy with confidence — and we'd rather refund you than keep money for something that isn't working for your classroom.

1. Try before you buy

Everything a student needs for a plot, and most of what a teacher needs to evaluate Plot45, is available free — you can try the Workbench, Sketch, and Write as long as you like before paying anything.

2. 14-day refunds on new subscriptions

If you purchase a paid plan and it isn't right for you, contact us within 14 days of first purchase and we'll refund it in full — no questions asked. Email hello@plot45.com from the address on the account, and we'll process the refund to your original payment method within 10 business days. The same window applies to purchases made by quote and invoice, counted from the date the plan was activated.

3. Renewals

Subscription renewals are charged at the end of each billing period (automatically once card payments open; by invoice for quote-based plans). If a renewal charges when you no longer wanted the plan, contact us within 14 days of the renewal and we'll refund it, provided the renewed period hasn't been substantially used. You can cancel renewal at any time; cancelling stops future charges and your plan stays active until the end of the paid period.

4. Add-on student seats

Extra student seats added mid-year are charged pro-rata for the remainder of your plan year, and renew with the plan. Seat purchases have the same 14-day refund window as the plan itself, provided the seats haven't been put to use.

5. What isn't refundable

Beyond the windows above, payments are generally non-refundable — but if something has gone wrong (extended downtime, a billing error, a duplicate charge), tell us and we'll make it right. Statutory rights that apply to you (including under the South African Consumer Protection Act or your local consumer law) are not affected by this policy.

6. Your data after cancelling or expiry

When a paid plan ends — whether cancelled, refunded, or simply not renewed — your cloud files (including your students' files) remain stored for at least 30 days. During that window you can sign in to read and download your work, and reactivating the plan restores full access with everything as you left it. After the 30-day window we may delete the files to free up storage, so please download anything you want to keep — every Plot45 tool can save your files to your device. We recommend keeping local copies of important work at all times; as set out in the Terms of Use, cloud storage is provided through third-party infrastructure and is not a guaranteed archive.
